Why Avoid Fried Foods?

I am just curious as to why you can't have fried foods... especially if you fry them in olive oil or vegetable oil.
Dianna
Hi Dianna, thanks for your question. You can eat some fried foods. Elmer Towns is the author of the Fasting For Spiritual Breakthrough Daniel Fast Diet. He clearly states that we should avoid "margarine, shortening, animal fat, high fat products." So we are allowed to fry foods with a little oil, but we should avoid deep fat frying, which is definitely too much oil.

We prefer extra virgin olive oil and Colza. Canola and other healthy non-animal fats are OK in moderation. Use as little oil as possible. French fries have too much oil. Spray some Pam or Colza oil on your fries and bake them. We use olive oil in the place of butter. Add a little salt if you like salted butter. Don't use olive oil for frying, it cannot handle the heat.
