Deep Fat Fried Potatoes

This year we bought a deep fat fryer to use with peanut oil- looking forward to deep fat fried potatoes- sweet and regular!
Thanks for all you do! Leslie
Hi Leslie. Thanks for your note. We're not sure if you are kidding us or serious. We hope it is the former. Canola, peanut oil and other healthy non-animal fats are OK in moderation. We prefer extra virgin olive oil and Colza.

The foods to avoid list includes, "margarine, shortening, animal fat, high fat products." Deep fried foods are definitely "high fat products" to be avoided. Use as little oil as possible! French fries have too much oil. Spray some Pam or vegetable oil on your fries and bake them. We use olive oil in the place of butter. Add a little salt if you like salted butter. Don't use olive oil for high heat frying!
