Honour God with My Body

Trish shared,
"I went on the Daniel Fast only eating fruit and vegies for 21 days. During that Fast I realised I wanted to honour God with my body weight. I have made serious changes to my diet. Walk 4-5 days a week. Spend time with Him in the Word and Prayer daily. It means being really serious about a relationship with Him, and wow what benefits!!! Praise Him!!"

Thank you for sharing your encouraging words Trish. Allow me to add a couple Scriptures from The Message version of the Bible that reinforce your point.

It is not for our own glory or vanity that we are careful what we eat. It is for the glory of God.
1 Corinthians 10:31 MSG "So eat your meals heartily, not worrying about what others say about you--you're eating to God's glory, after all, not to please them. As a matter of fact, do everything that way, heartily and freely to God's glory."

Men and women alike need to take care of our bodies, for they are the temple of the Holy Spirit!
1 Corinthians 6:19 MSG "Or didn't you realize that your body is a sacred place, the place of the Holy Spirit? Don't you see that you can't live however you please, squandering what God paid such a high price for? The physical part of you is not some piece of property belonging to the spiritual part of you."
Therefore, we must take good care of our bodies. Many common diseases are easily prevented with good nutrition and exercise.

I also made changes in my diet after a recent 21 day fast... No more dairy, adding on to no more meat after the another fast I did a year ago. I've never felt better!

Amen!!! I would also love to do that, I love where Trisha has said she wanted to honour God with her body weight, she has really given me a lot of motivation to do so.

Thanks to all who have been sharing their stories of the Daniel Fast experience. I've known for a very long time that fasting is a great tool to draw closer to God, but am having a difficult time "getting my head and heart" ready to do this. Your prayers and suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. KC

Thanks for the reviews. I really think that life style must be changed if we want our body to get in better shape and be more healthier and feeling better.
