Recipes for Desserts?

Hi, Do you have any recipes for desserts? My children are having a hard time giving up sweets. Thanks so much. Also a prayer request: My daughter has Osteogenesis Imperfecta. (brittle bone disease) Please pray for God's healing.
Michelle
Thanks for taking the time to write Michelle. One yummy dessert is smoothies. Some folks allow brown sugar and raw honey. Stevia is a good low calorie natural sweetener. You can buy Stevia, raw honey and raw sugar at Amazon.com.

Click here to search for Vegan dessert recipes. Avoid the recipes that call for items from the Daniel Fast Foods to avoid list.

Let's pray: Heavenly Father we are grateful that You know our bodies inside and out. We fast because we want to honor You with our bodies. We boldly trust You to heal Michelle's daughter. Make her bones strong and healthy. We give You all the glory! In Jesus Name!

Pain in My Tongue

Dear fellow christian, thank you for this opportunity to ask questions.

My Question: I know about the Dianel fast. I did engage in some day of Daniel
fast and some days into the fast I started experiencing some pain on the inner
part of my tongue. It makes it reasonably painful for me to swallow saliver,
any explain why? please reply.

Stay blessed in Jesus name Amen
Jim
We're sorry to hear about your pain Jim. That is not a common side effect of detoxifying your body, but it is possible. You should consult with your health professionals. Let them know you are doing a Vegan Diet with no sugar or caffeine. Those are the two that cause the most side effects, including body pain and headache. Let us know what you find out, so we can share it with our other Daniel's Fast friends.

Mushrooms Stuffed With Rice and Greens

Denise Austin is a long time favorite of both Sue and Mikeby Denise Austin
Makes 4 servings

Although nearly half the calories of hummus come from fat, virtually none of it is saturated. Add olive oil and walnuts and you have a delectable dose of monounsaturated fats to keep you hunger free for hours. Try to use mushrooms that are about 4 1/2" to 5" in diameter. Note: To prevent the mushrooms from becoming waterlogged, remove any sand or dirt with a brush and wipe with damp paper towels instead of rinsing with water.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup brown rice
  • 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 4 cups sliced escarole (a form of endive that is both versatile and tasty) or Swiss chard (a delicious leafy green vegetable)
  • 2 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup jarred roasted red peppers, rinsed and chopped
  • 4 large portobello mushrooms, stems discarded
  • 1/2 cup prepared hummus, preferably basil-flavored
  • 3 plum tomatoes, sliced
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
To Make:
  • Cook the rice according to the package directions.
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • Heat the oil in a medium skillet over medium-low heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes, or until softened. Add the escarole or Swiss chard and garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes, or until wilted. Remove from the heat and stir in the rice and peppers.
  • Place the mushrooms, gill side up, on a rimmed baking sheet. Spread with the hummus and spoon on the rice mixture, spreading it to the edges. Arrange the tomato slices on top and sprinkle with the walnuts. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Can you eat anytime of the day?

Can you eat the foods required anytime of the day or is the fasting period from 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. each day?
Kim
Hi Kim. Good to hear from you. Fasting during the Daniel Fast Diet allows you to eat any of the allowed food 24 hours a day. You or your church could decide not to eat anything from 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., but that is not required for the Daniel Fast Diet.

Blessings to you as you do the Daniel Fast Diet! Happy Daniel fasting.
