1. Start looking at labels and doing your shopping before fasting! My first few days were a challenge. I was not used to reading the food labels and making sure I packed better lunches. Man was that work!!! My menu? Most of my items came from a semi-health food store. -Alison
2. Check out Jentezen Franklin's fasting information!
I will be once again joining
Jentezen Franklin for the 21-day corporate fast on Jan. 6th?? (it may be a different date this year), and I look so forward to God's great power over my prayer requests and in favor of my dear family for growth in Jesus Christ to glorify His holy Name. God bless you all! -Susie
Thanks for sharing
Jentezen Franklin's fasting information with us Susie! I would also recommend downloading his excellent
November 2008 Connection magazine guide about Fasting. If you click on the link, you can download
Jentezen Franklin's free PDF version of Connection. It has many pages of helpful advice.
3. Start a journal or notebookIts a time I reflect on my realationship with God.Pray about it and know why you are doing it, what you want to achieve in the fast. Keep a note book to record your reflections, meditations, your lows and your highs etc. -Helen
Start your Daniel Fast notebook now, before your fast, with your prayer requests, goals and ideas.
4. Begin praying before your fast!I personally like to start praying about a month before the fast. I have only done 21 day no food total fasts, so I am not an expert Daniel Fast respondant. I do know that when I start a fast without praying first, I usually fail. -Eddie
Thanks for your emphasis on prayer before fasting Eddie!
