Watchmen, Watchmen, What Of The Night?

by Bob Overstreet

Watchmen, watchmen, what of the night?
Hear the Lord who's calling us
To take our post at midnight
In the darkness of this night.

The enemy's roaring around us.
He's stalking the Bride of Christ.
Hear, Oh hear, our calling
In the darkness of this night.

The coming of Christ is Oh so near.
It's announced by angels on high.
Can we ignore our calling
In the darkness of this night?

Stand firm, stand ready for battle.
Our duty's clearly defined.
Take our post, fulfill our call,
Oh watchmen of the night.

Oh watchmen of the night,
Oh watchmen of the night,
Dare we miss our calling
In the midnight of this night?
