On November 26, 1949, Dorothy married Roy Porter. She reminded everyone who met them that she outranked him, and not just during the war. She had two sons and one daughter.

Dorothy had a passionate love of eternal life.

She came to know the Lord, through the ministry of First Federated Church, Des Moines, IA, at five years of age. She was an active member in that church all her life. There are many areas in which Dorothy served her church.

Dorothy taught the 6th grade girls from 1941-44. She taught the beginners from 1948-49. She taught in the High School and Jr. High Department for 22 years. She loved motivating women to pray for missions as a member of the Women's Association. She also led numerous Bible studies.

Dorothy preached the gospel to everyone, every place through every means possible. She prayed daily for the eternal salvation of the people of Albania. We request that all memorials be given to the First Federated Church Missions Department, for missions work in Albania.

Dorothy would want you to take her place in all her manifold areas of ministry. Consider giving your life to reach the world with the gift of eternal life and peace with Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father and her sister Bonnie Boehle. She is survived by her husband Roy, her two sons Jim of Las Vegas, and John of Des Moines, and her daughter Susan Farho of Côte d'Ivoire, Africa. She had six grandchildren: Jason, Jay, Joe and Jimmy Porter and John and Joshua Farho.

May God give each of us Dorothy's passionate love of Jesus and His proclamation through world missions. Amen
