Burn Calories on the Stairs!

Have stairs at your home or office? They offer a perfect no-gym workout! Taking the stairs can improve cardiovascular health and lower cholesterol in just seven weeks. While a few minutes of climbing here and there may not seem like a lot of work, it adds up! You'll burn 12.5 calories every 60 seconds you spend climbing or 750 calories per hour! Now, that's an incentive to skip the elevator!

Watch your form as you go: Stand up tall with your eyes forward and your hand just lightly brushing the handrail for balance. While what goes up must come down, the results are a bit less notable you burn only 4 calories per minute descending stairs (about 240 calories per hour). Still, that's the same as an hour of golf! So get stepping!
