Burn Calories on the Stairs!

Have stairs at your home or office? They offer a perfect no-gym workout! Taking the stairs can improve cardiovascular health and lower cholesterol in just seven weeks. While a few minutes of climbing here and there may not seem like a lot of work, it adds up! You'll burn 12.5 calories every 60 seconds you spend climbing — or 750 calories per hour! Now, that's an incentive to skip the elevator!
Watch your form as you go: Stand up tall with your eyes forward and your hand just lightly brushing the handrail for balance. While what goes up must come down, the results are a bit less notable — you burn only 4 calories per minute descending stairs (about 240 calories per hour). Still, that's the same as an hour of golf! So get stepping!
