Farho July 2002 Prayer Blog
"When we put our cares in God's hands, He puts His peace in our hearts." We are so grateful for your prayers! Since we asked you to pray for fair weather last week, we have seen some blue sky almost everyday. Don't stop praying yet! We will load our moving van at 9 AM Thursday and unload it in Abidjan at 9 AM Friday. If all goes smoothly, we will take a few days vacation at the beach over the weekend. So let's put these cares in God's hands together, then we will have some days of His Peaceful Rest before unpacking. :-)
"We have to pray with our eyes on God, not on the difficulties." Oswald Chambers
One way we have found to avoid "the difficulties" is to ask you to pray for us. One difficulty we would like to avoid is loading and unloading our moving van in the rain next week. This request might take a miracle! It is rainy season in Cote d'Ivoire. We would also like to ask you to pray for emotional and physical healing of our Baptist friends who were robbed by armed men last Wednesday evening here in Bouake.
"A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." Lao Tung
You did it! You prayed for us to find a house and we did. We were able to find a real nice home in the Marcory quarter of Abidjan. After looking for more than a month, it seems like a miracle. Now our journey of 350 kilometers is getting started. Moving day is set for August 1, so pray that everything goes smoothly, one step at a time!

"You look like a Lebanese, but you don't eat like one!" Maggie, our Lebanese cook in Beirut. She kept us well fed during our two weeks of intensive training. Much of the food was the same that I grew up eating with my family in Omaha.
Praise God for a safe round trip to Lebanon and back to Bouake. It was a great experience to study in Lebanon and to visit my Lebanese friends from Africa in their own villages. I will soon be adding slide shows to our Web site from the many villages I visited: Batroun, Beirut, Biet Chabab, Ferzoul, Sidon, Toura , Zahle and others.
Prayer Blog as we consider how to proceed with my Arabic language learning and seek our future housing. We spent all day today in the car looking for a home in Abidjan. We have not yet found a home that would meet our needs.
