Bird Flu in West Africa

Bird Flu is in Nigeria. It is probably here in Cote d'Ivoire. Don't worry; you can't catch it over the Internet. Since we're not chickens, and don't work in a chicken farm, we're safe. Pray for George, who runs a large chicken farm. See the attached photo of Josh at George's farm. Our embassy tells us that there is very little risk in Cote d'Ivoire. We do have many Lebanese friends who are sick with human influenza. Dear Lord Jesus, give a gift of strength and healing to those who are sick.

We have our own choir!

After our Sunday morning "church service", Fauzi said, "We have our own choir!" I'm sure the angels are rejoicing in heaven, but our little choir won't be doing any public performances. We do praise God with all our hearts and study the Word together. Praise you Father for Sue's musical gifts. Help her as she writes and sings songs of praise in French and Arabic. Give John and his girlfriend Sarah wisdom and peace as they both prepare to leave for Iraq.

Happy Valentine's Day. We love you!

Thanks for your prayers for the 75th birthday of the C&MA in Cote d'Ivoire. It was a wonderful celebration for everyone. We wish you could have been there. We are also celebrating the arrival of our Arabic teacher from Lebanon. We had our first class today with Mayada. Josh has a 30 minute class twice a week, but is off to a great start. Sue and I will have a one hour class together twice a week. Praise you Heavenly Father for protecting and providing for the Farhos in Abidjan.

C&MA Cote d'Ivoire celebrates 75 years of ministry

The 75th anniversary celebration will take place this Sunday morning, February 12, 2006. Visitors will start arriving tomorrow from the USA. Pray for the C&MA National Church pastors and leaders as they are already in meetings in Yamoussoukro. There is much work to be done for this event.

Dear Father, continue to bless Your Church in Cote d'Ivoire. Protect all those traveling from far and near. May You be lifted up and honored during this exciting celebration. May Your kingdom continue to grow through the ministries of Your Church around the world.
