Painting in a Parachute by Sarah Johnson
I am truly grateful for God bringing the breeze, to my horror, my $3.99 floral print skirt from the Salvation Army, thought it would be fun to see how it could fly in the breeze. It was ridiculous trying to hold my skirt down and at the same time paint with a roller. Fortunately the skirt liked to watch itself puff up rather than reveal anything inappropriate. I won't be wearing it tomorrow! Another favorite part today was meeting students and kids in the hallways. I met a young lady named Nina, who came out and thanked me and introduced herself in English. I introduced myself in French and we had a good laugh. Sadly, though that is all the French I knew and all the English she knew so the conversation ended there. I loved trying and the victory in connecting in the small conversation we had! Hi Sarah,
My husband, Lou and myself, Susie, have been praying for all of you during your trip/stay in Abidjan. We have asked that God will do a new work using your team and that His Name will be glorified by your group's presence there.
What a great story on your "parachute" skirt!
May God continue to bless each of you. We have been praying for the Farho family and the flock that God has entrusted to them for some time now, and we have had the precious privilege of seeing our prayers answered faithfully! Glory to the Lord!
In His Love,
Susie with Lou, too!
Thank you for sending me this story. It made my heart smile. How is your wife doing???
Thanks Mike for the updates. It moved my heart to see the first bench being built for the church. The updates from the kids are really great and I will pray for their time with you and Sue. God Bless you guys, Kim & Tim
Mike! THANK YOU--THANK YOU for the wonderful journals for us to read. I felt as though I was right there. Now, I REALLY want to come some day. I trust the Lord will grant me that privilege.
One of the pictures of John looks SO much like you, Mike...only at a younger age. Notice I didn't say "at a MUCH younger age!" We'll continue to pray for the team and the work to be done. God's rich and bountiful blessings on each and everyone!
Have been praying for all your friends 'visiting you'. May the God of the Universe bless all they see and enjoy during this time. thank you for the encouraging story by Sarah. Carol
Greetings!
My heart has been moved as I have finished reading the remarks of some of the team from our church who are there just now. It is with appreciation to them but also to Mike and Sue for what has been accomplished these few days. The team members expressed their gratitude to the Livingstons for some meals supplied at their home as well as for time spent at the Farho's home. We really love these good reports and will encourage the Sojourners to read them also.
Besides that I hope we can get some of them to come to class to share more with us. We have asked John to meet with the Sojourners, finally(!) even though he will be speaking to the Super Adults July meeting.
We love Mike and Sue and Josh with his lovely 'forest crock'.
Vern and Inez
