Sue robbed at traffic light

Sue was stopped in traffic at a large intersection, when a man who appeared to be a beggar with a wounded arm, forced open the driver side rear section of the convertible top of her Suzuki Samurai. It was pouring down rain. The assailant was wearing a bandage wrapped around his entire right arm.
She screamed and honked her horn as he crawled into her car. No one helped her. She pulled her cell phone out of her purse to call me. Then the light turned green. She tried to escape, while he continued to climb into her car. He was able to enter and jumped into the front seat, as she crossed the intersection. Continuing to scream at him, she stopped around the corner and shoved the tall man out of her car.
She was so shook up that she was unable to call me on her phone. She drove straight home. Then she saw her purse was gone. She told Joshua and his French tutor to call me. I drove directly to the scene of the crime. The police were already there for another robbery, maybe even the same thief. They explained to me that the bandage was probably concealing a steel bar used to bust open car windows to steal purses. They left to search for the thief.
I couldn't get Sue to answer our house phone. I assumed her cell phone was stolen with her purse. So I drove home. Sue, Joshua and the tutor were gone.
She left with them to search for the thief and her favorite purse! They found witnesses who saw the man with her purse, but they didn't find the thief.
Heavenly Father, give Sue peace after this traumatic event. Help her to sleep and feel Your protection. Deliver the Farhos from danger. In Jesus Name! Amen.

I am so glad she is safe! Tell her I am praying for her to be at peace again. This is such a scary idea - that a person would be so violent and horrible.
I join with you in praying for Sue's peace of mind and divine protection.
What a bad experience for Sue! Praise God she wasn't hurt! I pray that she will get her purse back, and that this thief will be caught. It is sad when people turn to thievery and such bad things! I pray that God will protect your family nd others from danger. May Sue be able to rest after such a scare! Love and Prayers, Dorothy
Oh my word. How frightening is that? I hope they can find the thief and apprehend him. but most of all hope that he may come to know Jesus and turn from his stealing. as the Bible states. if you want to eat you must work not steal.
Praying for relief for Sue and a calmness of heart. please keep us abreast of how she is doing through all of this.

I’m so sorry about the robbery but glad that Sue was not hurt. Please let her know.
Grace and I are praying for your family and divine protection.
Heavenly Father, I fully agree in prayer with the Farhos. Please give Sue peace and calm, let the thief be caught, the purse returned, intact and, the community safe. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Mike & Sue...I'm so sorry about this...I will pray be praying for Sue and your family.
In Christ,
Julie
Dear Sue,
We are so sorry that you experienced this trauma. I just felt like crying when I read Mike's account of your day. We will be praying for you. God must have an extensive plan to use this for His glory!
We are so sorry you went through this terrible experience, Sue.
Lord Jesus, please give Sue your peace that passes all understanding. And please enable the purse and its contents to be found and returned. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
We love you and are upholding you in prayer.
Larry and Deanna
Yes we will pray, and I will endeavor to pray more regularly for you and your family. That would be a scary experience!
Thank you, Mike. Cause for prayer. We had a somewhat similar experience in Argentina (stress wise), where Christine was "kidnapped" by someone. I was on the phone with the kidnapper when thankfully she drove in, ignorant that she had been kidnapped!
Dear Sue and Mike:
I am so sorry this happened to you Sue. May the Holy Spirit give you freedom from fear and peace at this time and somehow may the Lord bring great good out of this for you all.
Love, Marie
I praise the Lord that Sue is OK. A purse can be replaced. We will continue to pray for your ministry and for Sue's healing of this terrible experience.
We are truly sad over this report, and will be praying and that God will calm Sue's fears and give her peace. We will announce this to the Ambassador class on Sunday. May God richly bless you, and protect you.
Audrey and Gene
Dear Mike,
I am so very sorry to hear of this frightening attack of the enemy. God WILL heal Sue's emotions and He has her safe keeping in His control. When we look back over our lives, we see many instances how our heavenly Father delivered us from evil! Hallelujah! This is probably harrassment from the enemy because of the godly college team coming to your town to bring the Light of Jesus with them. Dear and Mighty Heavenly Father, we plead the precious Blood of the Lamb over the entire Farho family, and over the college team coming, and over the ear and foot problem of Mike, and over Sue, Joshua, and John. We praise You that "Greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world." Nothing will stop Your gospel from being spread or the Light from shining! Glorify Yourself, Lord, in this frightening experience that Sue had, and may You receive all glory, all honor, and all praise in what You are bringing to pass in these next few weeks. In Jesus' Mighty and Victorious Name we pray. Amen and amen.
In the Name of Jehovah-sabbaoth (Lord of Hosts),
Your Sister and Prayer Partner, Love, Susie with Lou

I am so sorry to hear this! Our prayers are with you all. I’m speaking tomorrow to a bunch on ladies. I’ll be sure to mention this to them. Cindy
So thankful Sue was not hurt and pray all will be well. God is good!
I am so sorry, Sue. What an ordeal...and now you are without your purse and all your stuff. I will pray that you will feel like you can go out onto the streets again soon. You know what they say in Montana, "When you get bucked off, get right back on." Please know I care and I send you a big hug over the miles.
Love, Peggy
MIke, what time of day did this happen? I really felt the need to pray for someone today, but did not know who it was. I realized at that point that God knew and his Spirit was praying through me to intercede for someone. Maybe it was Sue. I pray she will recover from this terrible situation and that she will be able to get any valuables back that she lost. Poor girl! Lord Jesus, please help her. Surround her with your Holy Spirit and with your love. Protect her and keep the rest of the family. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Lifting you up in the name of Jesus. May His Peace guard your hearts and
minds in Christ Jesus.
Now I know that it was the Lord who brought you folks to my mind a few times times yesterday on our long trip down to Toccoa. How fortunate Josh was at home. Dear Heavenly Father, please enfold Sue in the shelter of Your presence. Thank You that You kept her safe, that You covered her and that Your faithfulness was and will continue to be her shield and rampart. (PS 91).
We thank the Lord for your faithfulness and perseverance as witnesses for our Lord, the Lord Jesus Christ, where He has planted you.
May you continually be upheld and held together by His powerful Word
love in Christ,
Wes and Cori
Praying. PTL Sue wasn't hurt physically.
I'm sorry Sue had to experience this. She was protected from physical harm, but I know she was harmed emotionally. I will pray for all of you!!!
We can certainly identify and sympathize with you re the robbery event, having been robbed once when we were in Freetown, S.L. As long as one is in a place of ministry like where you are, one can expect such harassment.
You certainly have our sympathies and our prayers. May the Lord's peace be yours as you recover from this event.
Why God permits such happenings, we don't always know. But we know that He knows and that He cares, and we have to leave the results with Him. Just know that your missionary family fully understands and are supporting you both before the Throne.
Thanks for letting us be part of the support team at this time. And may you find His presence to be very real to you today!
Love and prayers,
Dave and Peggy
Oh, my. That would be so very scary. Thank the Lord she was not hurt. I pray her purse is found, but as long as she is fine, her purse can be replaced. Bless all of you.
What a traumatic experience!! I really feel for Sue. Will pray for her and that the thief will be caught.
Love, Fae
It makes us sad to hear this story, as we heard same thing from other missionary friends in Kenya last year.
So apparently this is a very common tactic there. Thot I sent U that story last year, but not sure.
Read this AM in QT to be thankful for sufferings as they prove we R still alive ;)
But very painful to go thru.
i will keep sue and everyone else in prayer...certainly that is a very traumatic experience...one i can only imagine...but reality for sue...thankfully, she was not harmed physically and we give thanks to God for His protection...i know those things mean a lot to her BUT again...God is reminding me to give thanks for her LIFE and PROTECTION...praying that her purse will be found...and as the days go by sue will be less and less traumatized and more and more at peace...linda
Sue and Mike,
I am so sorry to hear about the attack you experienced, Sue! We rejoice with you and your family at God's protection, and yet, I also join in Mike's prayer that you will find peace and a feeling of secure protection in God's love. I will continue to pray for your family as you heal from this. You are such a gentle woman, Sue, my heart just aches that you've been through this violence.
With love in Christ,
Monica
PS I'm praying you will/have found your favorite purse! (No matter's too big or too small for God!)
Sorry to hear that Sue was robbed but am thankful that she was not hurt. I stand in agreement with your for peace for her and for you all.
Sending you all my love and God's
sorry to hear of your trauma. I will have the ladies in my SS class pray for you tomorrow. I am taking a copy of Mike's letter to read to them.
Heartbreaking to us & especially you, His children. If Jesus hadn't conquered evil, we would have NO hope!
Praying for you!
Dave & Lorraine
Please let Sue know that we will pray for her. May she feel God's love and protection over her and may she know anew that He is her Fortress and Strong Tower.

wow! how traumatic. i appreciate you helping us be aware of the dangers you face in ministry. i will be praying more specifically and intensely for all of you.
sorry to hear of the trauma, the violation that happened to you. Thank GOD you were not hurt. Sue, if indeed the robber had a metal pipe under his bandage. in our Lords loving mercy you were spared.
May God's grace superabound in your lives today as you process this loss. May He bring a depth of healing from this trauma that only can come from a loving and all-powerful God. And may God give you wisdom to know how to deal with identity theft and replacing what was lost.
I hope Sue is doing better. How scary for her! We shall pray for her! Thank goodness she is okay.
Love,
Patrick
Thank God, dear friends, for watching over Sue!
Wow! I am thankful that she wasn't injured and will pray for God's healing upon her mental state. I will also claim Romans 8:28 in this situation.
With joy,

Praying for Sue and your family. Oh my! In 10 years in Fort Lauderdale, my wife has had her bike stolen, her car broken into and purse taken, her identity stolen. So sorry that this happened to you. Tell Sue we continue to pray for you.
Dearest Mike and Sue,
Our thoughts and prayers are bathing you all right now and always!!
I wish Sue could come over and just help herself to my drawer of purses, as a favorite is like your best friend!!
But thankfully she was not hurt and the car was not taken!! Screaming is good defense!!
May the Lord continue to guard you and cover you with His love.
Ned and Linda
Just a quick note that Sue is in our thoughts and prayers. During the night I was reading Psm 72 when all will be settled.
I don't intend to have any special word but just want you to know we love you.
Carole
Heavenly Father,
Please give Sue Your Peace after this traumatic event. We just come before You and bind those powers and principalities and rulers of the darkness of this world. We bind and cast out the spiritual wickedness in the high places and render them harmless and ineffectual against Sue and Mike in the Mighty Name of Jesus! May You and Your Heavenly Angels give them protection!!
In Christ,
Marilyn
Lord bring this criminal who takes advantage of kindness to justice! AMEN
KEN
We were sorry to hear of this traumatic event, we do praise God that Sue was not physically injured, and pray that the Lord would heal the emotional wounds quickly. We do pray often for the safety of all the family.
Hi Sue! My heart goes out to you right now. I am so thankful you were NOT harmed. Jesus, I praise you for Sue. I pray that she would be encouraged and not let satan's scheme discourage her. Give her the boldness to seek Your will and forgive this person. I pray for mercy on her Lord. I again, praise you and thank You for protecting her Lord. May this man repent and fall to his face to Worship You. Sue is the key to this repentive heart. We agree that Your will, will be done. Amen.
Love you Sue!
Leslie from Arizona
(I feel like I've known you girl!)
Sorry that Sue was robbed. How traumatic for her. We thank the Lord she is okay. We will pray that her sense of peace will be restored.
Praise God for His protection over her life. He is the one who will restore the peace in her mind and soul.He will comfort her when she sleeps, he will wrap the tranquility of his love around her and cradle her while she rests. His word says.....Psalm 4:8...I will both lay me down in peace and sleep; for thou, Lord ,only makest me dwell in safety.
I am grateful to a God who watches over His sheep.
Be Blessed
Ramona
I am so sorry to hear about Sue's experience. We continue to pray for safety and peace in your souls.
Oh, my,...what a frightening event this must have been for Sue..and for you, when you found out about it. Thank God for His protection upon her....and may she find peace in His loving embrace as she recovers from this very horrible event.
May God enfold all of you in His loving care...and let us thank Him that she was able to push him out of the car and he was not able to harm her.........perhaps God sent a special angel...or legion of angels...to watch over her during this time which could have been totally tragic.
Thank God for your family who are serving Him despite these ongoing difficulties and dangers.
Blessings,
Carole (and Len)
Sorry to hear about the traumatic experience Sue had. My prayers are with you. Hope Sue is able to get over this soon.

Thank you for sharing what happened to your wife. My heart goes out to her. I am so sorry this has happened. I feel as if Ii know her although we've never met.. Please extend to her my heart felt prayer.
Dear Father,
I left up Sue before your throne. I thank you that her life was spared and no harm came to her physically. I ask that you heal the trauma and sense of violation that has occurred. I also ask that the memories would be healed as well. I come against the enemy of her emotions and in the spirit I put a stop the his torment. Each time he would try to have her relive the event that has happened I ask that she would have an overwhelming sense of your love and feel your protective arms around her. Reverse what the enemy has tried to do and turn it for your good. I ask that fear would not grip her heart and as she passes that intersection again and you would speak a word of comfort to her. Give her peace as she sleeps at night knowing you are watching over her. I ask this in your Holy name...Amen
Please have her read Psalm 91 before she goes to bed.
Your Sister in Christ,
Patti
Dear Lord God,
Please protect Mike and Sue from this frightening time in their lives. We are sorry for the trauma we will continue to pray for your safety. Please give Sue a hug for us.
God Bless you both, Tim & Kim
Oh, Sue! How frightening! Praying here ....
Mike & Sue,
I'm so sorry that you got robbed Sue. I'm glad you're okay and I'm sure you were quite shaken. I pray that the thief will be found so that he won't continue to rob others. I pray for his spiritual conviction and that the power of the Holy Spirit will be working in his heart to soften him and turn him from the evil of robbing.
Love,
Marg
I can relate a little to this because I lived in Las Vegas, NV and a man crawled in the passenger side of my car with me and my little girl. He tried to get the keys from me. We screamed and screamed and he finally left. I carried pepper spray ever where I went after that. Children are worth a lot on the black market and that was what he wanted. It was at a 7-11 stop and go. My prayers are with you. Its something you don't forget.
God Bless you and all you do for our Lord Jesus.
Sister in our Lord,
Bohnda
How is Sue doing? Have her nerves settled a bit since her attack? Praying God will give her peace and confidence in His protection. Pray also that the work team coming your way will have a good time of ministry and protection the entire time they are there.
Wow! I couldn't believe when I read your email. I can't imagine what that must have been like for poor Sue. I just wanted you to know that I am thinking of you and will be praying for you in the upcoming weeks! May God comfort and protect you with his Everlasting Arms and may His peace abound to you in the upcoming weeks, especially as you are out in your car!! Please keep me updated on how you are doing and if you have any specific request I can pray for!
We hadn't heard about Sue's robbery situation! We immediately went to the link you sent to us and read about it. Sue, we thank our loving Father for His protection over you. We're sorry you lost your favorite purse and contents, but are grateful to the Lord for your physical safety. Wow.....
MUCH love from Dakar,
Evan and Jewel
