John's shoulder surgery Thursday AM

Photo of John in Iraq with some kids.

Mike FarhoI had a good phone conversation with our son John today. He appreciates your prayers about his shoulder surgery on Thursday morning. He has had some annoying pain in one shoulder since his tour in Iraq. I don't completely understand his injury. but trust that the doctors do. I think it is called an arthroscopic outpatient surgery. He goes in at 6:30am, and out after lunch time. He will have three weeks of recovery. Then he has three weeks of National Guard camp in September. He is also taking a full load at college and working as a personal trainer at Gold's Gym. Oh to be 22 years old again!

Heavenly Father, we trust You to heal John's injured shoulder. Give the doctors wisdom and steady hands. Protect John from infection and further injury. Strengthen him as he juggles a very hectic schedule this fall.

Hello Mike!

I will remember John in my prayers. I believe that the Lord will bring him through this surgery victoriously. I pray that the Lord will also keep you and your wife in perfect peace during this time also. I know the anxiety that you may feel when your child  faces a challenge (health or otherwise). The Lord is faithful and he will deliver

Joyce.

Certainly in prayer for John and his shoulder scope.  I have had experience with such and know how painful it can be to have hurting shoulders and what a relief it is when it is finally over.  I am sure he will keep at the therapy and at 22 do really well. Prayers with him.

Love and Prayers for you and all of yours
Dan and Marylin ...Ne...(Fremont) folks..

we will pray thanks for the update. As I get older ;o) I need more regular reminders. I don't know if I would want to be 22 again or not, but it would be nice to have the energy!

I just prayed in agreement with your prayer for John.  Yes, it is amazing what young people can do!
Hope you're all doing well and your flock as well.  May God richly bless, protect, and lift each of you in His Almighty power, and bless you with His shalom.  In Jesus' Name.  Amen.

Dear Lord,
I too pray for John's upcoming surgery.  Guide the doctors' hands and help them to fix his shoulder.  I pray for a speedy recovery for John as he anticipates school, his personal training at Gold's Gym and his National Guard Camp.
Thanks for letting me know Mike.  I'm here if there's anything he needs.  I'll shoot him an email.  Let Sue know that I'm here to help.  Give her my love.

Love,
Marg

Dear Mike and Sue,   His surg. indicates that he may have a torn ligament or tendon.  I had arthro. surg. on my knee several yrs. ago.  Thanks for letting me know.  I will pray that all goes well and that he'll have a complete recovery.   Rose

Hello Mike
I was just wondering where your son was stationed.  My husband was in the Marine Corps and got out to go to school and wants to re enlist once he finishes his degree.  We live in Jacksonville, NC - Camp Lejeune base.

Glad to hear he is healing well.

We will be praying for John as he has this procedure done on Thursday.

I had arthroscopic surgery done on my knee exactly 2 weeks ago and am doing fine; it's so wonderful to be free of the pain that had been plaguing me.....so hopefully he will have these good results also..and soon be totally normal.

Blessings,
Carole

you said a mouthful!!...who wouldn't like to be 22 again... ...glad to hear things are going ok w/john's surgery...a lot of times the injury is with the rotator cuff muscles (infraspinatus, teres minor, subscapularis, and supraspinatus)...they are important muscles as they prevent dislocation of the shoulder joint...just a little info from my kinesiology class...will continue to keep john in my prayers...linda

Dear Mike,
We prayed for John this morning at missions prayer and we hope all will go well and that the recovery will be quick. You are right, what it would be like to be 22 again. At 51 you don't recover quite as fast. How is Sue doing after the incident is she ok about going to town alone or has she struggled a bit with it? We pray for your safety, but know you are in the best hands.

God bless you, Tim & Kim
