Blessings to You in 2010

God is all powerful and owns everything. We are only His servants, whether we know it or not. So we know He holds our future and yours too. May His plan be blessing and great joy for you in 2010!

Today, we had our second funeral in Sousse. It is a heavy responsibility to be the only pastor over so many miles of Tunisia.

If you desire to make a one time year end gift toward our work, please go to http://give.farho.net for more information.

Heavenly Father, You are able to do above and beyond all we can hope or imagine. Give us and Mike and Sue Your Holy Spirit's anointing to serve You even better in 2010!

Your Favorite Christmas Carol?

We wonder, what is your favorite Christmas Carol? Would you be so kind as to post a comment and tell us? Sue's favorite is Do You know What I Know? My favorite is Mary, Did You Know?

We'll share the results of this un-scientific poll Christmas Eve at our Carol Service. It is the major event of the year at the Sousse Church. We're trusting God for a capacity crowd worshipping Jesus Christ with us.

Heavenly Father, draw many to worship You at the Sousse Church on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. May Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ receive all the glory.

Thank you for your love and prayers. May God grant you a joyful Christmas!

Getting ready for CHRISTmas

The Birth of JesusImage via Wikipedia
We had our first Christmas Carol Service rehearsal last Saturday. Our new worship team is taking shape. We now have two guitarists and a keyboard. Today, we decorated the church with Christmas trees and manger scenes. Several folks came to watch and pray. A young local couple seemed really interested. We'll have a Christmas Eve Carol service and Communion on Christmas day.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for being the reason for the Christmas season. Help us and other wise men and women to seek You first each day.

Enjoyed the Ambassadors' Homes

The Mediterranean Sea.
They both had very beautiful homes, but in very different ways. These two photos were taken from the driveway of the US ambassador's home. It was fun to get to know the other USA, UK and Canadian wardens this evening. We were also blessed to enjoy their beautiful homes. Each was unique and breathtaking.

Carthage at sunset.
We were also able to share invitations to our Christmas services in Sousse with some of the travel agency representatives present at the meetings. The wife of the Anglican bishop came and invited us for lunch. I've been looking forward to meeting them.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the wonder and beauty of Your creation. Open hearts and minds to trust in Jesus, our beautiful Savior, during this season of Advent.

At home with Ambassadors?

Les quartiers d'El Menzah et d'El Manar dans l...
Today will be very unusual. I'm invited to both the USA and British ambassadors' homes. That is because of my position as their representative in Sousse. My title is warden.

Heavenly Father, give the Farhos safe travels again to Tunis in a tiny rental car. Give them grace as they attend these important meetings.

Celebrating Advent

We've enjoyed Advent as a family tradition for many years. It is also a tradition at the Sousse Church. We lit the Hope candle, last Sunday. We have a new resident, LeeAnn, who feels called to lead the kid's meeting during my message. It was very encouraging for Joshua, attending children's church for the first time at the Sousse Church. So far there are only two kids, but we know more will come now that they can study the Bible and have fun together. Tomorrow, we will attend some meetings and shop in Tunis.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for sending Jesus to be the Hope of the nations. Your promises are as sure as your faithfulness. Give the Farhos and their friends a safe drive to Tunis and back home.
